3 tools for successfully managing your team

Effectively managing a team is not an easy task. If everyone knew how to do it, everyone would become leaders.

There are specific tools that help you effectively manage your subordinates. Here are some of them:

1.      Monitoring and supervising the team does not mean reproach. Just yelling, the only thing you succeed is to hinder your team from producing and to create a negative climate. Make sure you correct them where necessary in a calm and consultative manner and make sure that the next time the mistake is not repeated.

2.      Weekly, if not daily, staff meeting: no much time is needed. A few minutes is enough time to highlight the accomplishments and successes of each member. So you reward those who have achieved excellent results and encourage others to produce as well.

3.      Measuring production: this is often bypassed. It is very important, because, on the one hand, you collect specific quantitative data for each member of your team and, on the second hand, you see where you should intervene, if something is wrong, and find the reason. Be sure that you receive from each member of your team their weekly production. E.g., for a sales group, this could be the number of new customers brought to the business by the salesperson, or how much sales in euros were done from them during the week, etc.
